Foundry moulding machine with two sand shooters - simultaneously filling cope and drag frames mounted on two turntables

Machine for producing boxless sand moulds, employs a hollow vertical pillar on which two turntables are mounted. The upper table contains e.g. four cope frames, while the lower table contains four drag frames; all eight frames can be driven vertically. Between tables is a double-sided pattern plate carrier. The tables rotate stepwise through four stations for (A) filling and compaction; (B) core insertion; (C) assembling one cope and one drag to make one mould; and (D) discharge of the mould to a conveyor. In station (A), sand is shot simultaneously into one cope and one drag from a sand hopper in the hollow pillar; and adjacent to station (A) is an elevator contg. patterns and a loader moving horizontally to change a pattern. High speed mass prodn. by using two sand shooters, one above, and one below the carrier is provided.
