High tension cable with synthetic insulation - and with termination contg. field control element

High tension cable is insulated with synthetic material and includes a termination and/or a sleeve. The cable has an external, extruded conducting layer(a) deposited at 90 degrees C to the longitudinal axis (1) of the cable followed by a conductive layer (b) a few um thick and with a length of 10-20 mm in direction (1), and layer (b) is surrounded by a field control element or a field limiting layer. Layer (b) is pref. a silver conducting varnish applied by spraying or graphite applied by spraying. Termination or sleeves can be easily, reliably, and inexpensively mounted on the cables, and there is no partial discharge reducing the working life of the termination.
