Mineral oils and/or oil residues, or their substitutes from coal, oil shales or tar sand are de-asphalted by solvent extraction in pressure of carbon black obtd. from partial gasification or combustion processes. The black is pref. used in the form of pellets, as obtd. when black is removed from the waste water from gasification or combustion processes by treatment with sol. Yields up to 95% can be obtd. compared with 40-60% by known processes e.g. distn., Vacuum distn. or solvent extraction. Higher boiling solvents esp. those with 5C atoms or more, can be used without increasing the metal content of the extracted oil. The used black pellets can be burnt in boilers or re-processed.
|
