<p>The tunnelling drum for a mining machine, has a conical sealing body with a number of pick teeth mountings round the periphery. The axes of the teeth are inclined to the working face, the teeth protruding beyond the body periphery. Several tooth mountings (9) on the body (6) hold removable teeth (16) whose axes (17) extend from the front face (14) towards the working face (15), or from the front face of the mounting (18). The free end of each such tooth is appreciably further forward than this latter front face. The axis of each tooth can be at right angles to that of the other tooth (11) in the same mounting, or very nearly so, and also at right angles or nearly so to the front face (14) of the body.</p> |
