A continuous agitator column for use as absorption column, dissolution column or reaction column of homogeneous and heterogeneous systems for chemical processes consists of several chambers with paddle mixers on top of each other. The plates sepg. the chambers have offset tubes which stand out from the plate opposite to the direction of flow. The amt. of stand-out is governed by the concn. at which the dispersed phase is to be transferred to the next chamber.
