1470603 Low calorie sugar substitute CHIMICASA GmbH 1 Aug 1974 [10 Aug 1973 18 Dec 1973 28 Dec 1973] 33978/74 Heading A2B A low calorie sugar substitute is made by evaporating the water from an aqueous solution to convert it to a foam and drying the foam to harden the granules thus formed which have a bulk density of 0.1 to 0.07 g/cc, wherein the aqueous solution comprises (a) sodium or calcium saccharinate and/or sodium or calcium cyclamate (b) 20 to 40 parts of filler per 1 part of saccharinate or 10 parts of cyclamate, said filler comprising 2.5 to 100% of Na and/or K salt of acetic, citric, tartaric and malic acid, or calcium lactate, 0-2.5% of albumin and the remainder (if any) of glucose, maltose and/or dextrin, (c) 0.02 parts by wt. of water soluble vitamins per 1 part of filler (d) 2-7.5 parts by wt. of water per 10 parts of dry substance. Preferably the solution is spray dried in a modified fluidised bed at 130.300‹C. |
