<p>This is an invention of a pneumatic system for operating and controlling the rotation of turnheads which supply grains and similar materials to selected storage bins. It consists primarily of a shaft, one end of which is attached to the turnhead, while the other end operates a sequence programmer which operates on cams and limit switches to control the stoppage of the turnhead in a selected position wothout drift. Rotation to the shaft is provided by a compressed air cylinder which operates by means of a ratchet arm, a one-way rotation cam clutch which is fixed to Raid shaft. A drum brake which encloses said shaft, is controlled by the programmer, through a series of valves, to lock and release the shaft in selected positions. Another programmer is provided between the source of the compressed air and the first-mentioned programmer. This second programmer is equipped with a dial, station numbers, indicator lights, and starter buttons. Where more than one remote station is installed, generally, the system is repeated at each station except, that the rotating shaft, its programmer and rotation mechanism remain the same. A variation in the systems consists of replacing the cylinder with an air motor-reducer for rotating said shaft.</p> |
