INTAGLIO PRINTING PLATE APPARATUS

Intaglio printing plate apparatus for deposition comprises two intaglio plates one attached to the top platen of a printing plate apparatus and one attached to the lower or bottom platen with the recessed intaglio designs of the two plates facing each other; one of the plates which is attached to the top platen is formed with passages passing through its thickness to the recessed intaglio design and the other plate is formed with air bleed holes leading from the recessed intaglio design to atmosphere; a sheet substrate has passages therethrough and is interposed between the upper and lower plates whereby the recessed intaglio designs are connected and whereby fluid may be deposited simultaneously on both faces of the substrate.
