Coarse material grinder and mixer - has rotor knives working with breaker plates in top of vertical housing

The grinder has knives mounted on the periphery of a rotor turning on a horizontal axis. The grinding chamber is a vertical housing, and the knives (3) on the rotor (2) work with breaker plates in the top part of it. Grading is by a sieve plate, bent in a curve so as to form the lower half (5) of the chamber, and connected directly to an exhauster passage. The sieve plate can comprise two similar 90-deg. segments, attached at the bottom to a strip in the chamber wall, and at the top to a funnel-shaped opening in the chamber. They can be connected to a mechanism for their automatic insertion and removal. The rotor can be run at roughly 1500 rpm, requiring up to 150 hp.
