Fire arrester for fusible pipe passing through wall - using heat to expand foam and form seal across pipe opening as pipe melts

The fire arrester fits across a fusible pipe (1) passing through a wall (2). The pipe is made of a material which melts when heated and this causes a chemical foam mix contained in the fire arrester to expand and form a seal across the opening. The arrester casing (6) is rectangular and made from fire resistant material. Its vertical sides (10) touch the pipe, its top and bottom (9) being a distance away. Flat sliding sections (13) contact the pipe top and bottom, the two spaces (8) being filled with foam mix. The pressure generated forces the sliding sections into the centre (X) to form the seal.
