<p>New symmetrical ethylene-alpha, omega-diamines and their derivs. have formula Z-(-CHB-CHD-CnH2n-)-AC=CA-(-CnH2n-CHD-CHB-)-Z (I) (where A, B and D are H or 1-6C alkyl or aryl; m is integer 0=n=13; Z is a prim. sec. or tertamine- or a quat. ammonium gp.). The formula comprises both the cis and the trans isomers of (I). (I) can be used as bactericides-, emulsifiers; in water-treatment, e.g. for cooling water; as flushing agents or dyestuffs industry; as emulsifiers or de-emulsifiers in petroleum chemistry; in the prepn. of special oils, antibiotics, in emulsion polymerisation and in detergent industry. (I) can also be used in the prepn. of polyamides, polyurethanes and polyamides, and as crosslinking agents in vulcanising rubber. In an example, di-(N,N'-n-propyl)-1,6-hexen-3-yl-diamine-1,6 was prepd. by the catalytic metathesis of N-n-propyl-N-buten-3-yl-amines.</p> |
