Automatic drinking bowl for cattle - has feed pipe protected in channel on underside of bowl

The bowl is a metal casting having spaced ribs (58) on the undersurface forming an inverted channel which protects the water feed pipe (52). A bend (44) connects the pipe to a valve (26) in the bowl which is protected by a flange (64). A plate (34) is biassed to a raised position by spring (40) and is depressed by the animal to operate the valve and release water into the bowl. The bowls are stackable.
