<p>The pressing or stamping tool for making trilaminar relief inscribed name plates, comprises a male (3) and a female (2) matrix. The tool has a combined cutting and pressing action, and the laminates (14, 16, 19) inter lock in the horizontal plane. The female matrix (2) has a plane surface with a doubly stepped (15, 18) recess. The first step (15) is of uniform depth and defines the letter outline. The second step (18) is also of uniform depth and defines the letter infill zone. The male matrix (3) has a doubly stepped elevated zone. The process cuts a piece out of both the top (14) and intermediate plates (16) corresponding in shape to the outline (15) of the letter and the infill (18) zones respectively. The operation also step folds the intermediate (16) and bottom plates (19) and the former (16) projects (17) in relief above the cut edges (15) of the top plate (14), and the latter (19) projects (9) similarly above the cut edges (18) of the intermediate plate (16).</p> |
