The invention relates to a method for adapting a detection apparatus intended to be coupled to a liquid-phase chromatography column and provided with detection means as well as means for forming an aerosol and means for transferring said aerosol to the detection means. The aerosol formation means include a nebuliser into which are introduced: (i) a sample formed by a mobile phase containing compounds to be analysed which have been dissolved therein, and (ii) a nebulising gas that can be used to transform the sample into an aerosol. The means used to transfer the aerosol to the detection means include at least two essentially cylindrical removable nebulisation chambers connected to the nebuliser, namely a traditional nebulisation chamber intended for traditional chromatography and a modified nebulisation chamber having a shape suited to high-speed and high-temperature microchromatography.
