The fixture (1) has a diametral slot (3) which runs into two slots (4) cut parallel to the end faces. These slots have the shape of a quadrant with one wall (5) common with the wall of the diametral slot. The rope or cable is laid in the diametral slot and then rotated at right angles so that it passes through the quadrant slots and lies against those edges which are at right angles to the diametral slot. The rope is thus secured by the fixture and can only be released by rotating backwards through 90 deg.
