FIELD: medicine. ^ SUBSTANCE: method can be applied in medicine, particularly in surgery. Purulent affection of cellular mediastenum layers are denoted in pre-operation diagnosis in abbreviated form of AM/DS including two parts divided by slash line. 'A' (anterior) symbol denotes front cellular layer affection: A1 is for location behind presternum at I and II rib level, A2 is for III and IV rib level, A3 is for location between IV intercostal space to breast xiphoid appendix; 'M' (medium) symbol stands for cellular tissue affection between cardiovascular complex in front and trachea with main bronchi in behind: M1 is for peritracheal cellular tissue, M2 is for peribronchial and bifurcation cellular tissue; 'D' (dexter) symbol denotes cellular tissue affection at rear mediastenum to the right from centre line, 'S' (sinister) symbol denotes cellular tissue affection at rear mediastenum to the left from centre line: D1S1 is for location at II - IV thoracic vertebra level, D2S2 is for V - VII level, D3S3 is for VIII - X level; purulent inflammation zones A1-3 are drained through cuts in jugular fossa and under breast xiphoid appendix. ^ EFFECT: possible unification and optimisation of surgical treatment. ^ 3 ex |
