Frame for automatically washing laboratory glassware, esp. pipettes - aligns securely held tubes on belt to water jets

A frame by means of which tubes of small dia. used in a laboratory, esp. pipettes, can be handled easily in an automatic washing machine with a reciprocating belt and jets projected vertically, eliminates both the awkward positioning of the glass tubes on pressure connections, and the protracted dwell necessary in other machines. The frame into which the pipettes are placed immediately after use, aligns them vertically and parallel to each other in two rows. It consists of a front and rear cheek, between which, at top and bottom there are supports of a synthetic material proof against heat and fluid chemicals. The bottom support has the form of a gutter with steep sides running into a slit smaller in diameter than the smallest tube. The slit opens out again in an inverted "V" with sides giving access to the jets of water. The top support is formed by two side blocks aligned by bolts and a row of centre blocks consisting of lower and upper clamps. Under the action of an eccentric shaft of stainless steel these compress a cushion which aligns each row of pipettes in planes.
