<p>The hydraulic mine support of the main patent has a set of cylinders between the roof and floor members each with two clamping jaws. Between the jaws is at least one actuator piston. The clamping jaws grip the cylinders and carry out a sliding action under the force of the piston actuator system against the cylinders. Each clamping jaw has an end stop which is engaged when the whole jaw has an end stop which is engaged when the whole mine support is erected. In one design, a swinging lever system is incorporated between the floor and roof members, using two independent stabilising systems, swung at right angles to the direction of advance of the mine support.</p> |
