Packaging irregularly shaped goods, e.g. pieces of poultry - by wrapping them in plastics film and gluing this onto a flanged piece of cardboard (NL 14.11.78)

Package comprises an irregularly shaped film package and a piece of cardboard which partly surrounds it. The film closely hugs the contents and the cardboard has flanges for folding over the edges of the film. The film package is placed upon the cardboard, its corners being pressed down until the flanges are folded over the edges of the film package so that it will be firmly positioned once the package is completed. The flanges are then glued to the film package. Method is esp. applicable to packaging of foodstuffs such as poultry pieces.
