The power unit is used to open and close a sliding door, the reciprocating motion being provided by a double acting cylinder powered hydraulically or pneumatically. This cylinder (1) is fixed above the door and contains a piston (2) sliding inside it, the piston transmitting its movement to a flexible linkage (3). The linkage has each end attached to opposite sides of the piston, forming an endless lopp passing over guide pulleys (5). Between these pulleys, the lower portion of the linkage has a connector (6) which is attached to the door. A spring loaded pulley contacts the linkage, the tension preventing any lost motion. |
