A key and look combination is esp. in flat key and cylinder lock form for lockers. The key has profiled pieces in the middle section extending from the centre and having different spacings and lengths. The corresponding cylinder of the lock is conical in shape and matches the profiled sections including overlapping portions. The key profile can also have recesses and holes for engagement with retaining rods in the lock.
