The digital heart frequency measuring instrument eg for athletes has a digital counter and a digital store. The instrument is fed with an electrical pulse sequence corresp. to the pulse rate. The heart frequency is sequentially analysed from beat to beat. The digital counter has on its input independent timer and on the output end an intermediate store to hold the timing pulses between the two heart beats. The digital storage is connected to the intermediate storage forming a programmable storage. The heart frequencies corresp. to the given counter state are stored under its addresses.
