Composite profiles used in mfr. of windows and doors and consisting of >=2 spaced metal profiles with projections, undercuts or the like on their opposite surfaces, which are, along their length, connected by a heat-insulating core. Mfr. comprises providing a space between the metal profiles, which is a channel; providing a bottom cover (sic) for the channel; filling it with (nearly) liq. plastics; allowing this to set; and removing the cover. The space is filled with insulating material in at least 2 superposed planes extending parallel to the longitudinal axis of the profile, whilst leaving an interstice between the profiles free of casting material.
