<p>The i.c. engine has two rows of cylinders (12, 13) in V-formation. Each cylinder has an inlet and an exhaust port in its side and a sparking plug (19) in its head. It also contains a reciprocating piston (5). The bottom of each piston presses on face can (1) which is connected to the output shaft. The bottom of the piston is formed as a projecting stud to press on the lever. The movement of the piston is limited by the movement of the lever and it is kept in contact with the cam by a spring. This transmits motion to the output shaft with a simplified mechanism which reduces the overall size of the engine without reducing the output.</p> |
