<p>The application is to stator yoke for electrical machines. The yoke is made as a continuous winding of steel strip or ribbon as in 2630806. The object of the present modification is to increase the mechanical properties of the finished yoke with respect to stiffness and stability. The yoke is constructed of two concentric sub-yokes. The inner concentric sub-yoke is wound by bending the steel strip on edge, giving axial lamination. The outer concentric sub-yoke is wound with the strip flat and thus gives radial lamination. The outer yoke may be made axially longer than the inner one in order to give a spigot for end shields.</p> |
