On a drawing frame with rotatable funnel wheel (11), the sliver funnel (16) has in the vicinity of its mouth a laterally directed bypass opening (40), which serves for diverting the air flowing parallel to the sliver (37). The venting of the sliver funnel (16) achieved as a result takes place continuously or intermittently, preferably into an air duct (33) running annularly around the funnel wheel. A build-up of air at the mouth of the sliver funnel (16) can be prevented and a higher sliver delivery rate can be achieved. <IMAGE>
