SYSTEM FOR AGING CATALYTIC CONVERTER OF VEHICLE AND METHOD THEREOF

A catalytic converter aging apparatus for a vehicle and a method thereof are provided to age a catalytic converter caused by the same condition as the field condition. A catalytic converter aging apparatus for a vehicle comprises a first step(S202) which injects poisoning substance into an engine according to aging initiation of the catalytic converter; a second step(S203) which operates the engine to the condition less than a first air-fuel ratio; a third step(S205) which maintains the temperature of the catalytic converter under for a predetermined time period under a reference temperature; a fourth step(S206) which operates the engine under a second air-fuel ratio; a fifth step(S209) which maintains the temperature of the catalytic converter beyond the standard temperature for a certain time by supplying the air to the catalytic converter(S207); and a sixth step which performs repetitively operation which is less than the first air-fuel ratio and the second air-fuel ratio after determining whether the experiment time which was set up in aging of the catalytic converter is passed or not(S210).
