The breathing mask which covers the face from forehead to chin, has a lower part fitting around the chin, matching it in shape. Above this is a mouth opening, below which is the breathing tube connection. The cheek portion (5) between the front opening (4) and the sealing lip (3) is outwardly convex, both sides of the mask. When the edge (2) of the mask is stretched outwards to position the mask over the face, the lip (3) swings inwards about a point (A) which is the junction between the cheek (5) and edge parts (2) as well as the lip. The mask is then tensioned against the face.
