PURPOSE:To easily obtain a stable halftone gravure plate, by bringing a halftone positive having a gravure screen into contact with sensitized carbon tissue, printing the positive on this tissue,and contact printing the halftone positive having no gravure screen through a diffusion sheet. CONSTITUTION:A halftone positive having a gravure screen is brought into contact with sensitized carbon tissue to print it on this tissue. The walls of ink cells for preventing outflow of the ink in the medium and shadow areas during printing are formed by this operation. Then, the hafltone positive having no gravure screen is contact printed through a diffusion sheet, thus permitting the halftone image of the halftone positive to be converted into an image having a continuous gradation, printing to be completed only by two-step printing using only a halftone positive used for lithography or letter press, and a halftone gravure plate not causing fluctuation of quality and moire to be obtained. |
