Wet paper transferring device has a suction cylinder which is in contact with a drying cylinder on the one hand and the wire screen on the other hand. Pref. the wire screen is passed over a drive/guide roller adjacent the suction cylinder, whereby the diagonally adjacent quadrants of the cylinder and roller are arranged as suction and blast segments for dehydrating the web and for assisting the web transfer from the cylinder to the cylinder, respectively. Used for transferring wet webs from web forming wire screens to drying cylinders. Customary felt is dispensed with.
