FLAME-RETARDING COMPOSITION

摘要

PURPOSE:To obtain the title composition which has an excellent flame retarding effect and does not produce any noxious gas by adding a powdery engineering plastic of a specific heat distortion temperature to a polyolefin or a copolymer of ethylene with another monomer. CONSTITUTION:0.1-50 pts.wt. powder of an engineering plastics of a heat distortion temperature >=100 deg.C (e.g. bismaleimidotriazine resin or a polyarylate) is added to 100 pts.wt. polyolefin or copolymer of ethylene with another monomer. This composition does not produce any noxious gas when placed in a fire, has a flame retarding efficiency more excellent than that of a composition containing a flame retardant such as Al(OH)3 or Mg(OH)2, has excellent mechanical strengths and is useful especially as a coating or connecting material for wires and cables.
