1531962 Determination of inorganic carbon content BAYER AG and HARTMANN & BRAUN AG 30 July 1976 [31 July 1975] 31819/76 Heading G1B The inorganic carbon content of a sample of aqueous liquid, e.g. surface or domestic waste waters, is determined by injecting the sample via a pipe 2 together with a CO 2 free carrier gas via inlet 3 vertically downwards into a reaction chamber 1 containing excess liquid phosphoric acid 5, to form CO 2 and water; the carrier gas and CO 2 formed is forced through the chamber 1 by over pressure developed in the chamber and fed through the outlet pipe 6 to a CO 2 analyzer where the amount of CO 2 is quantitatively determined as a measure of the inorganic carbon content of the aqueous feed sample. |
