PURPOSE:To recover toner scatting out of a picture carrier in response to environmental conditions and to maintain picture quality by providing a recovery means between a guide member and a transfer means and dislocating the recovery member from the picture carrier ad the transfer means. CONSTITUTION:The recovery member 12 recovering toner floating and scattering around a transfer electrifier 8 is provided between the guide member 5 and the transfer electrifier 8. Under various conditions, the recovery member 12 is freely turned in the directions of arrows (a) and (b) by a position changing device 14 driven by a driving power source 13, is arranged in an appropriate position and recovers the scattering toner efficiently. When the device is used under a normal temperature and a normal humidity, for instance, the recovery member 12 is rotated in the direction of the arrow (a) to be used, whereas when it is used under a high-humidity environment or it employs thick paper, resin material, a hygroscopicity paper as a recording material 6, the recovery member 12 is rotated in the direction of the arrow (b) to be used. Thus, transfer efficiency is improved to maintain high quality. |
