PURPOSE:To steer a ship safely and effectively by comparing and displaying the course calculated by a planning system planning the optimum course and the course which is output by an expert system assisting steering of the ship, and further making an alarming display. CONSTITUTION:When the course of a ship should be determined, two courses indicated by a terminal device 7 of a display device 8 for control of the course are referred to. The course calculated by a planning system 2 which designs the optimum course based on the positional data from a position measuring device 1 is taken into a display/comparison module 6. On the other hand, an expert system assisting steering of the ship reasons and determines the course on the basis of the course data input from the system 2, data of position, speed and course of the other ships, and positional data of dangerous areas from a data base 4 storing data of the circumstances outside the ship, and rotational angular velocity from an auto pilot 9. The two courses are compared by the module 6. When the difference becomes not smaller than a given value, the module 6 generates an alarm. Accordingly, a man can determine the course based on the finally-indicated ones for steering the ship. |
