The present invention relates to a color-treated substrate and a color treatment method for the same. The present invention forms a film and a wavelength conversion layer in nm levels having a specific thickness ratio on a matrix containing magnesium to improve durability of the substrate while maintaining unique texture and luster of metal. Since an achromatic color including black and various colors such as blue and green can be uniformly realized on the substrate surface, the color-treated substrate can be usefully used in an electric/electronic part material field such as a building exterior material, an automobile interior, and a mobile product frame, in which a metallic material is used.
