A sleeve is fixed in a hole (70) of a section (24) of the handle, in which sleeve the upper end section (34) of a hollow ski-stick shaft (14) is guided to be longitudinally movable. The inward thrusting movement takes place against the resistance of a spring (20), and the size of the stroke is limited by a fitted stop apparatus (16, 18, 26) which can be designed as a pneumatically absorbing cylinder/piston unit. In order to obtain the friction between the ski-stick shaft and the sleeve which is important for the shock-absorbing effect, the sleeve is provided with longitudinal slots starting from its lower end and equipped with an annular clamping member (94). <IMAGE>
