The invention relates to a method for the after-treatment of process exhaust air containing combustible substances, in which the combustible substances in the process exhaust air are converted in an oxidation catalyst (12). Upstream of said oxidation catalyst (12), a concentration of combustible substances and/or an oxygen concentration are detected in the process exhaust air by means of a measurement device (30-34). In addition, inert media, preferably water or steam, are added into said process exhaust air by means of a media feed device (14), upstream of the oxidation catalyst (12), such that the concentration of combustible substances in the process exhaust air does not exceed a predetermined first threshold value and/or the oxygen concentration in the process exhaust air does not exceed a predetermined second threshold value. |
