Automatically closing grab for glass sheet - has convex jaws on scissor linkage lifting sheet during heat treatment

The grab has scissor linkage with jaw holding bearings. The grab jaws which engage with the glass surface have convex shape. These jaws (50, 51) are held on the ends of pivot pins (42) able to rotate within bearings. The jaws rotate to limited extent about vertical pivot axes for lifting. Each jaw can have at its other end a different gripping configuration. Relatively thin glass sheets are clamped with jaw ends which have pointed clamping features. Relatively thick sheets are held by convex curved jaw ends. The grab jaws do not penetrate into the softened glass panel surface on clamping.
