<p>The fluid projection jet has a union mounted at the end of a flexible or semi-rigid pipe. The sealed joint is formed by a bush crimped into place, and which is extended axially to form a tube which can act as a grip. The bush can be crimped into place only at one end and for the conventional length over the union. The jet of fluid can be formed by a cone section machined inside the union. A shield can be provided on the end of the metal tube opposite to the union, to protect the flexible pipe. The crimping operation can be effected on a tube end previously flared out, and which is brought back to the original diameter.</p> |
