<p>The system loads pallets with piece goods, particularly packets or sacks. The items are delivered by conveyor onto a transfer plate parallel to it, this being then moved sideways while the layer of items is held in position by a strip so as to deposit them on the pallet. The items are delivered in rows one behind the other to the conveyor, and a number of them equal in length to the pallet are lifted off the conveyor by a fork inserted horizontally underneath and transported away. The fork is then lowered again and the row of items already on it thrust towards its end furthest from the conveyor, whereupon it is inserted and lifted again to pick up another row, and so on until a complete layer is formed.</p> |
