The plastics receptacle for storing brushes under water is for painters who usually leave their brushes with the bristles immersed in water overnight to avoid the need for repeated cleaning after each day's work. The receptacle consists of a rectangular plastic box (1) with projecting claws (5) for supporting the handles (7) of the brushes. A central bridge (8, 9) carries a clip (10) for supporting the handle (12) of a paint roller. The receptacle may be filled with water or when different types of paint have been used each brush is inserted into a separate plastic bag which is filled with water or with oil according to the type of paint being used.
