<p>The platform uses an air cushion and comprises a rigid flat surface (1a) for the load. This has side walls for an annular rubber seal ring inside and underneath. This ring is inflated by a separately adjustable compressed air supply (5, 6, 7, 17) and has a double membrane joined (19) to a centrally positioned vertical stem. The vertical stem (9) is connected to another separately adjustable supply (11, 12, 18) injecting compressed air (9a) for the air curtain. This air passes through holes in the lower membrane to provide an automatic sealing action and several complete units can be used on a large platform.</p> |
