Electrode for use in iontophoresis - has conductive inner pad of flexible wire mesh enclosed in fabric cover dampened with cosmetic solution

The electrode is used in iontophoresis to apply cosmetic solutions to the skin, using controlled electric current. It comprises an electrically conductive inner pad of flexible wire mesh enclosed in a fabric cover (3), this latter being dampened with the solution. The pad has wires of silver or brass, coated with an anti-oxidant. It forms a rectangle, having a cable (5) centrally placed at one end for supplying the current. The cover encloses the upper and lower surfaces of the pad and is hinged at the end opposite the cable. A plastic hook type gripping tape is used to close the cover.
