PROCESS FOR PRODUCING ALPHA FERRIC OXIDE

PURPOSE:To provide the subject process comprsing subjecting a precipitate, an iron hydroxide or oxy iron hydroxide produced by adding an alkali to an aqueous solution of a Fe compound (such as FeSO4 or the like) to hydro thermal treatment in a strong alkali, whereby the orientation degree of orienting spinel type ferrite is improved and magnetic characteristic is increased.
