The folding door, folding wall or similar, has its folding pieces held together by covering and connecting battens. The lengthways edges of the components which come to rest against the battens are semicircular in shape, to fit against correspondingly rounded channels in the battens. All the wall or door components are held together by a series of cables passed through themselves and through the connecting battens. The rounded sections of the channels in the battens pref. extend over an angle of 90 deg. Spacer discs or washers can be sited between the ends of the components and the channels. This provdes well sealed joints between folds and battens.
