The self aligning ball bearing has one or more rows of balls between an inner and an outer race, and enclosed at the sides by sealing rings fixed to the outer race and working against spherical faces on the inner one. The inner race has a tubular body (5) and the spherical faces (15, 16) are formed on rings (17, 18) fitted to this body. The portion of the body between the rings forms the inner race for the balls (3). The rings can be of rigid plastics with annular beads formed on them, snapping into engagement with annular grooves in the tubular body. Alternatively, they can be shrunk, screwed or glued to the ends of it.
