The recliner chair has a movable base (11) with side arms. Fixed to one of the side arms, to the inside (13), is an attachment (20) for the arm. The seat can be adjusted by means of a lever from an upright, sitting position, to a backward-sloping position, and vice versa. The recliner is supported on the ground, and the attachment (20) supported in turn by a pair of parallel, front and back pivot hinges. Each pivot lever has one arm pivot mounted on the attachment, and a second arm extending from the top of the first arm. A pair of suspension levers are pivot mounted on a support. A pair of back and front thrust levers are pivot mounted on the support. A stabilising lever is joined to one of the pairs of back and front hinges.
