The h. f. coaxial cable is waterproofed along its entire length. It consists of an internal conductor and a concentric outer conductor with a dielectric filling the annular space. There is a seal surrounding the outer surface of the outer conductor. After preparation, the surface of the dielectric (2) is coated with a water repellant sealing mass (4) such as to form ring shaped coatings with gaps. The outer conductor (3) which is formed by a metallic strip (10) is then wrapped around the coated dielectric to form a tube. The edges are then welded to form a longitudinal seam. The distance between the ring coating of the dielectric is smaller than half the wavelength of the mid-frequency.
