<p>A stack consisting of synthetic resin/carrier or films on top and below a core is loaded into a hot press using a longitudinal loader and dropping its whole area simultaneously on to the heated platen by withdrawing the loader. The stack is made up with the leading edge projecting beyond the edge of the loader. When the press is open a withdrawing carriage with clamp enters the press. The clamp grips the leading edge of the loader while withdrawing and lifting the previous press load. The leader and carriage are connected and moved into/out of the press and stopped. The loader returns, the load being positioned over the bottom platen. The stack is released from the loader, the clamp opens and moves towards the carriage, and the whole area of the stack is deposited simultaneously on to the platen. Quick press loading is obtd. with no localised pre-cure or slippage of cauls or stack materials.</p> |
