The machine tool has an automatic tool change device, a tool spindle and a tool magazine. A pcik-up can be brought into engagement with a pickup groove in each tool. A dividing device ensures part switch motion of the tool spindle in the direction of rotation. The pick-up groove (11a) of each tool (11) is so dimensioned that there is given play (2d) between this and the pick-up (10a) on engagement. The part switching device includes a coarse part switching device to adjust the tool spindle (10) on a given angular range on termination of the machining. A fine part switching device has a movable cam element which has a first segment to adjust the tool spindle to a given angular position during a first movement phase of the cam element. A second cam segment turns the spindle out of the angular position by a small amount during a second phase of the cam element which has a drive device.
